Apparently the Canadian government has given Telfonica a $200 million “investment” providing them with capital to purchase Blackberry handsets and services.
The funding is designed to “facilitate the procurement of BlackBerry smartphones, services and solutions across its worldwide operations”, the EDC said in a statement announcing the deal.

We have heard that AT&T has set the launch date for the latest BlackBerry Bold 9900 series for October 20th.
